Gili Gede and the Story of Ko-Ko-Mo: A Tranquil Island Retreat with Endless Adventures
Nestled off the south-western tip of Lombok, Indonesia, lies a hidden gem known as Gili Gede, which translates to “Big Island” in the language of the indigenous Sasak people. With its unspoiled beauty and a population of fewer than 700 inhabitants spread across five villages, Gili Gede remains a tranquil haven reminiscent of yesteryear.
What makes Gili Gede even more appealing is its convenient location, just 60 kilometers east of Bali, reachable by a speedy 1½-hour fast boat ride.
The Region’s Natural Wonders
The region surrounding Gili Gede boasts a myriad of attractions that rival international standards. From being a cruising ground for yachts and pleasure craft (including an international standard marina) to a surfing mecca featuring two of the world’s most coveted top 20 waves, Desert Point & Bangko Bangko, the area offers something for every adventurer.
For diving and snorkeling enthusiasts, Gili Gede and its surrounding 13 islands boast an excellent coral reef system, promising unforgettable underwater experiences. Dive site options include the challenging “Hammerhead Shark” dive off the south of Lombok at the famous “Magnet Dive” and “The Cathedral Dive” sites teeming with pelagic big boys, barracuda, and tuna.

Ideal Climate and Proximity to Lombok
Gili Gede enjoys a favorable climate, with only four months of rainfall and a balmy water temperature of 28°C all year round. Moreover, its close proximity to Lombok Island (the mainland) adds to its appeal. Lombok, with its existing tourism industry and untouched natural attractions, offers a glimpse of a life unscathed by over-development and overcrowding.
Rich Local Culture and Fishing Playground
Immerse yourself in the unique culture of Gili Gede, where warm, welcoming locals eagerly share their beautiful land with visitors. For those seeking a fishing adventure, the island provides a playground abundant with marlin, tuna, and other game fish, with the opportunity to have your catch BBQ’d on the beach at night.

The Luxurious Ko-Ko-Mo Gili Gede Resort
Part of Gili Gede’s allure is Ko-Ko-Mo Gili Gede Resort. Following in the footsteps of its highly successful sister resort on Gili Trawangan, Ko-Ko-Mo Gili Gede takes luxury and experiences to the next level. With a commitment to compete with some of the world’s most renowned island resorts, Ko-Ko-Mo Gili Gede promises a haven of opulence and relaxation for its guests.

I am looking for a combination four days at Kokomo resort and five days bareboat Charter with captain only and hands-on Sailing for 4 to 6 experienced sailors. Itinerary would be secret Gili Islands and Nusa probably. Open to other suggestions.
Timeframe is April 1-10
